Its amazing how much a simple act of kindness can make a noticeable change in someone's day. I woke up this morning feeling much like I normally do: disappointed that I had to go to work yet again. My job isn't terrible...it just isn't that great. I had also checked my email, which had a pretty little courtesy balance notification from the bank. How had my account gone from $80 to $20 when I hadn't spent money?! Of course...my energy bill payment had just gone through.
So I left the house feeling a little stressed over money, annoyed at my lack of hours this week, and just overall feeling not-so-great. Fortunately, I had a little extra cash that I was able to deposit in my bank account. My manager asked me to punch in an hour and a half early. And, when I filled up with gas (which miraculously took only $40 this time), a stranger filling up next to me decided to wash my windshield along with his. So my day is looking up.
On another note, now that I'm out of college, I've decided to make a few changes. Steven bought a PS3, as well as a game I was interested in (Rayman). So I'm learning to play video games!
I finally read Immanuel's Veins by Ted Dekker. I've started reading the classic Uncle Tom's Cabin! And I've decided to start reading my Bible again. Completely starting over with YouVersion and I'm planning on staying dedicated since I don't have any other required readings! I'll keep this updated with which reading plan I choose and when I start and what I learn and all that kinda fun stuff!
I've also decided to try and start making healthier choices. This goes for eating, exercising, drinking, sleeping, etc. I'm going to use Spark People to try to accomplish this. I've decided to do this, though, without falling into the trap of becoming obsessive with it, like many people can do. We'll see how this goes!
Well, I now have about 15 minutes before I have to punch in, so I better get off the computer and get myself prepared!
Until next time.
